Myerscough College and Belisama’s Retreat are to work on a new initiative to provide resettlement training & work experience for Veterans looking for a career outdoors.

The new initiative, “Adult Skills Training for Forces Veterans” from Myerscough College is aimed at supporting the Armed Forces Community and the College’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.

Lasting for either three or, six weeks, the courses cover a range of outdoor career options: Garden/Park Design & Maintenance, Aboriculture (Woodland & Forestry Skills), Grow your own future and Countryside Management (including Health & Well being). They also offer a selection of industry ‘tickets’, enabling you to kick-start your new career or become self-employed.

Belisama’s founder, JP Marriott said “We are very excited to be partnering with Myerscough College and for the opportunity to help fellow Veterans. The woodland at Belisama’s provides the perfect environment for students to master new skills and gain practical experience. In return, our partnership will help Belisama’s progress our 20 year plan”.
